IMMEDIATE NEW JOB OPENING for a Sr. Security Solutions Architect to join our team and work on-site at one of our clients’ global HQs in either Texas, Tennessee, or Virginia.  The Security Solution Architect will lead secure solution architecture for customer-facing initiatives across web, mobile, APIs, property and payments platforms, impacting 250 million global customers, thousands of partners, and employees.  The right person will have a strong foundation in software engineering, product/application security, and solution or enterprise architecture and will partner with delivery teams as a Security Solution Architecture SME to ensure software solutions are secure, resilient, scalable, maintainable, and aligned with technology, security, and industry standards.

Responsibilities:
  • You will design and review end-to-end solution architectures, including application components, APIs, integrations, data flows, cloud services, identity patterns, and operational controls, ensuring that security is embedded into architecture decisions from concept through implementation.
  • You will translate business and product requirements into pragmatic architecture designs, security requirements, implementation patterns, and engineering guardrails that can be adopted by software engineering teams.
  • You will own and evolve security reference architectures and reusable solution patterns for customer-facing platforms, including API security, customer identity, secure software design, cloud security, encryption/key management, secrets management, logging/monitoring, and secure integration patterns.
  • You will collaborate with enterprise solution architecture, engineering, platform, product, and cyber security teams to ensure proposed solutions align with overarching architecture models, security and technology standards, regulatory obligations, and long-term platform strategy.
  • You will develop, document, and maintain solution architecture artifacts, security architecture diagrams, reference architectures, implementation guidance, and standards that enable consistent secure delivery across teams.
  • This role requires demonstrated experience delivering secure software and solution architecture outcomes, with the ability to clearly communicate design decisions, trade-offs, risks, and recommended controls to business, engineering, architecture, and security stakeholders.
  • Engage with multiple project teams: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineering, development, enterprise architecture, platform, product, operations, and cyber security, to ensure security is integrated across the full system lifecycle - from strategy and solution design through implementation, deployment, and operations.
  • Partner with engineering leaders and architects to evaluate solution options, identify security and architecture trade-offs, and guide teams toward designs that balance risk reduction, customer experience, delivery velocity, scalability, resiliency, and maintainability.
  • Communicate architecture recommendations in a practical, engineering-oriented manner, including diagrams, decision records, reference patterns, and implementation guidance that delivery teams can execute.

Deliverables this role owns:
  • Lead security aspects of solution delivery by defining secure-by-default architecture patterns, security controls, and reusable engineering guidance that materially reduce vulnerabilities and risk in released customer-facing and employee-facing products.
  • Produce and maintain solution architecture and security architecture artifacts, including data flow diagrams, network diagrams, API and integration patterns, identity and access patterns.
  • Contribute to the continuous development, review, and adoption of security standards, architecture standards, secure software engineering practices, and best practices.
  • Support governance by reviewing proposed architectures, documenting risks and compensating controls, and helping teams resolve design gaps before implementation or production release.

Required Skills:
  • 7 years of professional work experience in Technology, Software Engineering, Cyber Security, Architecture, or a related field.
  • 5 years of hands-on software engineering, software development, or application delivery experience, with demonstrated understanding of modern engineering practices, SDLC, APIs, integrations, cloud services, and production operations.
  • 3 years of solution architecture or enterprise architecture experience, including experience designing or reviewing end-to-end applications, platform, integration, cloud, or customer-facing digital solutions.
  • 4 years of work experience in one or more of the following domains: Product Security, Application Security, Solution Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, Customer Identity & Access Management (IAM), API Security, Cloud Security, Cryptography, AI Security, or Payments.
  • You have practical experience translating business and engineering requirements into secure architecture patterns, design decisions, threat models, and implementation guidance.
  • You understand Customer Identity and Authentication technologies, such as OAuth 2.0/OAuth 2.1, OpenID Connect, SAML 2.0, API Security, token/session security, and AWS IAM security.
  • You understand cloud and application security concepts, including least-privilege access, network segmentation, secure configuration, encryption/key management, secrets management, logging/monitoring, vulnerability reduction, and secure CI/CD considerations.
  • You have strong cryptography fundamentals and understand architecture solutions for protecting customer data, preventing online fraud, and reducing abuse in customer-facing digital channels.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, or associate’s degree plus 7+ years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus 9+ years of Technology related experience.
  • 2 years as a solution architect, enterprise architect, security architect, or senior software engineer responsible for architecture-level design decisions.
  • Experience building or designing secure customer-facing web, mobile, API, payments, identity, or cloud platforms at enterprise scale.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and frameworks such as PCI DSS, GDPR, CCPA, NIST 800-53, SOC 2, ISO 27001, PSD2/SCA, and related privacy, data protection, and technology risk requirements.
  • One or more industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional), AWS Certified Security - Specialty, TOGAF, SABSA, or equivalent architecture/security certification.
  • Strong software engineering and/or software development background, preferably 5 or more years, with experience in modern programming languages, API design, secure coding practices, cloud-native architectures, and engineering delivery models.
