IMMEDIATE NEW JOB OPENING for a Backend/API Software Engineer to join our team remotely and work for our global client.  This role is within the Distribution Services Systems team and will be responsible for defining, developing, testing, analyzing, and maintaining new & existing software applications in support of the achievement of business requirements. This includes writing, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications. The Backend/API Software Engineer will also research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the project life cycle.


Responsibilities: 
  • Collaborate with programmers, designers and architects in conceptualizing and developing new software programs and applications and maintaining existing applications.
  • Analyze and assess existing business systems and procedures.
  • Assist in the definition, development, and documentation of software’s business requirements, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users and department.
  • Assist in defining software development project plans, including scoping, scheduling, and implementation.
  • Liaise with vendors for efficient implementation of software products or systems and for resolution of any adaptation issues.
  • Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications.
  • Write programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or performance of company applications as necessary.
  • Design, run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging.
  • Generate statistics and write reports for management and/or team members on the status of the programming process.

Required Skills: 
  • 3-5 years of C# experience writing Microservices APIs with SQL Server on the backend.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio Code, Microsoft Visual Studio 2019 & 2022, .NET Core, C#, MVC, Microservices, REST API and AWS Cloud.
  • Experience with front end technologies such as ReactJS, JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery, Bootstrap, and CSS.
  • Professional experience with SQL Server, and SQL Reporting Services.
  • Experience with working with developers and project managers along with knowledge of data mapping.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and seasoned experience with Excel.
  • Experience with working with many different file formats including XML, fixed width and comma delimited.
  • Professional experience in VB.Net, ASP.Net, ADO.Net, VBScript, and IIS.
  • Experience in the Hospitality segment is highly preferred.
  • Professional experience with Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Confluence.
  • AWS Certification – preferred.
  • Strong qualitative, quantitative, and business analytic skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, or associate degree.
