AWS Kafka Cloud Engineer

IMMEDIATE NEW job opening for an AWS Kafka Cloud Engineer to join our team and work remotely for our global client.  We are looking for a Cloud Engineer experienced with AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka to join our team to support our Cloud migration and resiliency efforts. You will be part of an in-house technology team that’s creating consumer-facing, cutting-edge technologies revolutionizing the hospitality industry around the world!

Responsibilities:
  • Work on Cloud resiliency efforts and implement platform solutions with a focus on high availability, fault tolerance, and scalable systems.
  • Work on capacity planning, installation, administration, platform management, performance optimization of Kafka partitioning and Kafka brokers.
  • Automate and enhance existing operational procedures, maintenance and build outs.
  • Optimize the scalability and resiliency of our Kafka environment across multiple regions, supporting both active-active and active-passive setups.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to fulfill business requirements.

Required Skills:
  • 3+ years’ experience with Kafka, MirrorMaker 2.0 (MM2).
  • 3 years’ experience with AWS.
  • Hands-on experience with MSK.
  • 2 years’ experience with DevOps tool sets and methodologies.
  • Experience with Amazon Managed Streaming for Kafka, MSK replicator.
  • Experience with supporting 24/7 critical systems for on-call.
  • Experience with AWS best practices and Well architecture framework.
  • 2 years of experience with AWS services VPC, S3, RDS, IAM, Event bridge, Lambda.
  • 1 year of experience with Kubernetes.
  • 2 years of experience with Infrastructure as code tools Terraform.
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools like systems DataDog, Prometheus, Splunk.
  • Experience with certificate-based authentication, x509 certs.
  • Experience with multi region active-active, active-passive setups and disaster recovery.
  • 1 year of experience with scripting languages bash, python.
  • Experience with Zookeeper.
